Quality

Adjust the compression level to balance quality and file size.

Options

  • 1 is the lowest quality and the smallest file size. Compression is very visible. Use this when the video plays a secondary role, and the audio is more important.
  • 2 is slightly better quality. Compression is still visible, but less.
  • 3 is our recommended setting for most use cases. Compression is nearly invisible and the file size savings are substantial.
  • 4 is better quality and nearly invisible compression in most cases. We recommend 4 if 3 gives you subpar quality.
  • 5 is very high quality and still substantial savings.
  • 6 varies a lot depending on the video content, but the outcome is nearly lossless, and you may see file savings between 10% and 50%.

When do I need it?

  • For emails or chat messages, you may want a smaller size and are okay with lower quality.
  • For web hosting, you may want a balanced quality and size.
  • For archiving, you may want the best quality and are okay with a larger file size.
